Da'wah for the sake of Allah

Assalamu Alaikum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakaatuhu

Shaikh Maulana Muhammad Ilyaas (R.A) said:

" While giving dawah, the face of ourself should be towards Allah only, and not towards listeners. In other words, when talking to people this thought must be present in our minds that we have come out neither for any of our personal work, and nor by our own will, we have come out by Allah's command and for His work; and that only Allah will make our listeners accept our talk.
While talking to people if we bear this in mind , insha-Allah, neither will we get angry at the negative response of listeners or lose hope. "

A chief principle of Dawah & Tableegh in Islam is 'Nafeer'

[ Assalamu Alaikum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatuhu]

A chief principle of Dawah and Tableegh in Islam is 'nafeer', that is, leaving one's native place and going to the places which afford oppurtunities of acquiring deen and then coming back to fellow tribesmen and nationals for disseminating among them the religious knowledge thus acquired. The following verse of surah Nisaa which was revealed on the Occasion of the Battle of Uhud:

Oh you who have attained to faith! be fully prepared against danger, wether you go to war in small groups or all together.
(4:71)

contains instructions though for war time strategy, yet its general scope includes any nafeer made for the cause of deen. Qazi Bezaavi rahmatullah alaih has also given this interpretation amongst others in his commentary of the holy Quran. In Surah Taubah, there is a particular verse of this idiom:
It is not desirable that all of the believers take the field (in time of war). from within every group in their midst, some shall refrain from going forth to war, and shall devote themselves instead to acquiring a deeper knowledge of the faith, and thus be able to, teach their homecoming brethren, so that these too, might guard themselves against evil.
(9:122)

During the time of the holy Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, deputations from different tribes came to medinah to acquire the knowledge and practice of deen. Staying for a period of 7 to 10 days ( a few stayed for around 3 weeks and so forth) and having got the basic knowledge of deen, these groups went back to their homes to acquaint the people of their community with Deen.

Muslim Brotherhood

A very brief post for now inshaAllah Ta'ala.

The enforcement of Muslim Brotherhood is the greatest social ideal of Islam. On it was based the Prophet's (SAW) sermon on his last pilgrimage, and Islam cannot be completely realized until this ideal is achieved. '
(Shaikh Maulana Muhammad Yusuf, 2nd Ameer of Tabligh)

As Muslims part of ahlus sunnah wal jamaa'ah we all have differences amongst us, fiqh'i or otherwise. This is no big thing; even the sahaba had differences amongst them. However, despite these differences, they had the utmost respect and love for each other. Never did they use bad language, devious methods, slander, make cause for division etc. This is something we Muslims need to bring into practice in today's times. This is something our ulema and elders advised us very strongly about as the quote above clearly states, and if you read the last speech of Shaikh Yusuf rahmatullah alaih ( which i have already posted), we will see just how much it was stressed upon.

May Allah give us the ability to set our differences aside for the deen, to be able to agree to disagree, because this is the very thing that is the downfall of the Ummah today, this division and ceaseless arguing and needless hatred. May Allah guide us all.

Advices & instructions for the people returning back from the path of Allah (khurooj)

[Assalamu Alaikum WaRahmatullah]

It was a regular feature in the times of shaikh maulana inamul hasan (rahmatullah alaih) and before him Shaikh Maulana Muhammad yusuf rahmatullah alaih, that normally between 11 AM and 12 noon, he would welcome the incoming jamaat, describe the demands, principles and etiquettes of the work to the outgoing jamaat and then bid them farewell after dua and musafa (handshake). During those sittings the gathering could listen to some very important and beneficial talks in brief sentences. A few sayings will now be quoted:

Allah (swt) likes a life full of deeds for his servants. If the deeds are animated in us, and we are governed by them, we shall become of those favoured by Him. He is not pleased with property, wealth and money, rather with good deeds. Once He is pleased we will be successful in this world and in the hereafter. There are four things, if we bring them in our life, pursuit of deen will become easy for us. They are taleem, tableegh, offering salah with congregation with the first takbir, and, Joula. Nowadays our practical life is broken. Ignorance of Allah's commandments impair us Not Allah. Neither He benefited if we perform deeds throughout our lives nor He is at a loss if we disobey throughout our lives. It is ones own benefit and loss. Allah has sent everyone to this world for a short while. If he (any person) tracks down the path to Hell, that will be his destination. If he moves on the path leading to Paradise, that will be his destination.
Religiousness does not mean the performance of one or two deeds only, rather following the deen all through the life and spending the entire life in compliance of Allah's commandments. Jaula, tableegh, taleem, three chilla etc are meant only to keep the path of deeds open for us, so that we may follow the commandments of Allah in our lives. Jaula and khurooj etc are not complete deen rather one of the means of its acquisition. Keep yourself busy in the four things mentioned, and protect yourselves from useless things. The love for the good deeds is proportionate to the avoidance of useless talks and deeds.
The real life is that of the hereafter while the present life is meant for its building up. The status in the eyes of Allah depends upon the efforts for it in this life. The life of this world is not meant for games, gambol and negligence, but rather for the preparation, concern and accumulation of the needs for there hereafter. For this purpose, we have to go out in the path of Allah, practice good deeds and get accustomed to them. After coming back from khurooj, we must also continue the good deeds for there hereafter along with our daily lives, businessess and other engagements.

(insight into dawah and its understanding & cognition)

May Allah help us all to act upon the Quran and sunnah and follow the advices of our ulema past and present, who advise us through the quran and sunnah. May he accept the humble efforts of us all. Ameen.

Living the Deen throughout our lives..

Assalamu Alaikum WaRahmatullah

From a discourse of Shaikh Maulana Inamul Hasan Rahmatulla Alaih:

" Religiousness does not mean the performance of a few deeds only, rather it is following the
deen all throughout life and spending the entire life in the compliance of Allah's commandments.

Tabligh, Joula and Khurooj, taleem etc are meant only to keep the path of good deeds open for us,
so that we may follow the commandments of Allah strictly throughout our lives. Joula and Khurooj
are not complete deen, rather an excellent means of its acquisition. keep yourselves busy in these four deeds
and protect yourself from useless things.

The desire to commit deeds is proportionate to the avoidance of useless talks and deeds.

Effort In Islam

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

Islam is true. There are four types of effort in Islam:

The effort of listening....Ta'illem
The effort of speaking...Da'wah (Tabligh)
The effort of thinking...Dhikr
The effort of asking...Du'a

Faith ripens through mujahadah, It is strengthened through Da'wah,
It spreads through migration and it is saved through discharging the rights of Allah's servants.
(Maulana Ahmad Ladh, Ijtima Bhopal)

Imam Zahabi recorded from Sayyidina Imran Bin Hussain (r.a) that the messenger of Allah, peace be upon him said:
" On the day of judgement, the ink which was used by a (true) scholar
to put religious knowledge and injunctions into writing, and the martyrs b lood shall be
weighed. The scholars ink however, shall turn out to be heavier than the bloo d of the martyr "
(Ma'ariful Quran 3/235)
